Trying #29 Foot

I am now trying to use my #29 foot for my Bernina 640, I'm loving that foot. It is clear and allows me to do free motion. I still need lots of practice with my BSR foot. I did most of the center here with the 29 foot and it seems to be getting better.

Working With My BSR Foot

I have this book called Bodacious Applique and it gives such a great ideas for applique and using color pencils to shade with along with threads.  As you can see this is a learning in progress it will certainly take a lot of practice but I'm really loving it.  Here is the sunflower I'm currently working on.

Gary's Quilt Finished

Well yesterday I finally finished my dh brothers quilt and yep that means it is quilted and binded finally.  I really love the thread I used Sulky Blendables and it is so beautiful.  I used a really pretty flannel for the back of this quilt so it should really be warm.  Now I just have to put a label on it and it will be ready to ship.

Tucker's Quilt Top Completed For Christmas

Oh I'm so happy I just finished putting my middle sons quilt top together today.  Now all I have to do is add 2 borders and another will be ready for my quilt frame.  Boy oh boy my quilt frame is going to be really busy for the next 2 months trying to get all these quilt tops done for Christmas.  I'm really so happy with what I've gotten done so far.  My middle son Tucker wanted only really black and red but I talked him into adding green and I'm just loving these colors.  I might have to keep this one myself...lol.

Kirk & Alissa's Oriental Quilt Completed

I finished my youngest son and his wifes Christmas quilt back I think sometime in June can't remember.  This is also a pretty big quilt it is for a queen size bed.  They wanted oriental and this is what I came up with, it has really been quite awhile since I used the pattern which I can't remember the name of but it was from a pattern.  I also quilted this on my Handiquilter frame using a Juki machine.  This was the first time I used a pantagraph which I made myself using Quilt Cad, they were fish and I did it across the entire quilt. I hope they like it I thought it came out really pretty.

Kevin's Quilt Top With Borders Finished

Well finally finished my oldest son Christmas quilt top.  Now all that needs to be done is put it on my quilt frame and start quilting.  I now have 4 quilt tops ready to be quilted.  I feel like I've got so much done and this is only October whoooooppppppeeeee! Here is a picture as best I could take based on the size, this quilt is 111 x 111 so it is really pretty big.  I really hope he likes it.  It took me two days just to do the borders.

Sponge Bob Matching Pillow Case

I had so much fun making this pocket pillow case.  I belong to the quilt show and it is so fantastic how much I learn from them.  This was a pattern from episode 507 called pocket pillowcase by Rebecca Kemp Brent.  They gave us the pattern free so what I did was made a matching pillow case with the cutest little pocket inside for my Sponge Bob Quilt.  Here is a picture of it

Sponge Bob Finished Top

Oh I'm so happy I got my oldest grandsons Christmas quilt done today.  Now all I need to do is load it on my quilt frame and quilt it.  I've got several but at least the top is done.  I thought it came out really cute and I think he is going to love it. I'm also going to be using flannel for the back and it is blue with Sponge Bob and his friend throwing snowballs should be a really warm little quilt.

Six Blocks Done Today

Here is what I got done today for my grandsons Christmas Present.  I just love how this is coming out.  Hopefully I'll have it done by the end of the week.  I only have 14 more blocks to go and then border it, and finally quilt it and put the binding on.  I'm so excited because I'm getting stuff done.  The border will be done with the Sponge Bob fabric and then I'm going to put Sponge Bob flannel on the back it will be a lap quilt but big enough for him to cuddle up in and stay warm.
